"Nah, it's only for the big boys!" I kept hearing this or the same from ladies and women.
Is it really for the big boys only? I think, NO, any responsible person who wants to do this sport/game can do the airsoft game/sport or simply even own a Gas Blowback Pistol or Rifle for plinking.
Airsoft games like Milsim, CQB, or Practical Shooting, maybe was a man's thing. I don't know or have seen any records during the 70s (I wasn't born yet at that time) when airsoft was born if any women were playing the game... but today, there are lots of ladies and women playong MilSim, CQB, and practical Shooting and even kids enjoying the games, incorporating discipline, learning the proper and safety gun handling, and being a morally responsible person.
Old-mentality fellas may debate, but the whole intention of airsofting is for fun sport, discipline, and no to violence that's why it was created by Ichiro Nagata, a shooting enthusiast, non-lethal!
